June 1966 The 9th plenary sitting took place at Paris from 15 till 17 June.
The theme of this sitting concerned the budgetary and financial problems known to the Union’s members as capital cities. The six reports contained quite some information about the fact that the six capitals are alone; to support because of their particular role as political, administrative, diplomatic, international, cultural, etc. centre of their country. It’s during this Parisian sitting that, for the first time, a common resolution was edited, meant to attract the attention of governmental authorities about the particular situation of capitals in this matter. A comparative study about the administrative structures of the six capitals, realised by Bonn, was also brought under the attention of communal magistrates. The objective of this study was to simplify the contacts between civil servants of the six member cities. |
